Virtual Business Partners is run by Clive and Jane Struver. We’ve both been in business for more than 25 years and have worked in a variety of businesses including start-ups, SMEs and large companies, so we have a wide range of skills and experiences to draw upon. And, if we don’t have the specific areas of expertise that you need, we almost certainly know someone who does!
Below is a summary of our backgrounds and skill sets.
Virtual Business Partners is run by Clive and Jane Struver. We’ve been in business, working for large and small companies both in the public and private sectors for more than 30 years. We have extensive experience ranging from business operations to team and business management. We’ve been through the process of starting and growing a successful business and understand the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and small businesses.
One of the most, if not the most important skill we possess is the ability to listen, any interaction with our clients starts with listening. Once we have established where the problems lie, we work collaboratively to provide effective solutions.
We believe our clients are best placed to understand their own businesses. Our role is not to re-invent the wheel, it is to grease the mechanisms to allow the vehicle to move forward efficiently, effectively and successfully, within budget and on time.

Clive is an experienced business professional with proven capabilities in sales, business, project management, people leadership and coaching.
He comes from a technical background having worked in the technology industry for the first 20 years of his career, where he progressed from systems engineering roles in the semiconductor industry to operations, sales and marketing and then general management positions.
Clive was General Manager and then European Managing Director of a global telecoms equipment manufacturer where he led the company to 28th place in the Sunday Times “Best Company to Work For”, the highest ranking company in their sector. He has served on the board of companies in the UK and Europe and also a pan European standards organisation.
Clive has also trained as a Business and Personal Coach and has successfully worked with a number of individuals and businesses in this capacity. Drawing on lived experience and understanding to create tailored, proven and practical solutions.
In 2008 Clive, and his wife Jane, started their own business. They quickly became established and learned many valuable lessons along the way which they can now pass on to others.
The beauty of having been there, in the shoes of an entrepreneur stands us in good stead to guide others who are either starting out in business or seeking to expand on their current operation.
Clive’s role in Virtual Business Partners enables him to do the sort of work that he enjoys most, that is helping businesses and individuals to grow, helping them to solve problems and develop to their full potential.
Clive has a Masters in Computer Science, a BSc in Electronics and is a certified Business and Personal Coach, as well as having taken various courses in company finance and management.

Jane is a truly experienced all-rounder. She is an Executive Assistant, Business Analyst and Sales and Marketing professional with over 25 years of experience.
Jane began her career at the Bank of England, where she gained experience in a variety of roles, from HR and recruitment with tasks such as, sickness, payroll and interviews. Purchasing with tasks such as, organising supplier meetings, customer support, invoicing, negotiating contracts and terms. Planned maintenance, systems administration and carrying out training for other team members.
Jane then worked as a Sales Supervisor and then Business Analyst for a global IT service company.
After 15 years working in the public sector and corporate worlds, Jane joined forces with her husband Clive, to build their own business from nothing to a thriving entity in a matter or years. This role of many hats suited her experience and desire to learn new skills.
Alongside the family business Jane continued to stretch herself by entering the world of virtual business, becoming a virtual assistant for a bathroom company. Here she provides support to the Sales Director which includes, CRM, customer development, sales generation and pipeline forecasting. Jane’s impact on the company meant she was asked to overwrite the current inefficient processes and implement new and effective sales processes. She then provided training on these to the rest of the team. For sales and lead generation, Jane has reached out to prospects using email and templates to suit the target. She understands the need to grab the prospect’s attention in order to strike up that all important first conversation.
Jane has continued to build on her virtual role, working remotely in a freelance capacity with small businesses including Social Media campaigns and content management and writing.
Jane draws on her experience as a Business Analyst helping companies to gain the best and most effective use of their systems and working practices.
On the EA side, Jane assists with financial administration, customer support such as responding to enquiries, solving problems and being the first point of contact, business administration such as managing inboxes, arranging meetings and scheduling appointments.
